Our clients thought

The resounding feedback from our clients underscores the exceptional quality and performance of Staub cookware. Home cooks and professional chefs alike rave about the transformative experience of using these pieces in their kitchens.

Staub is one of my favorite cookware brands. I like cast iron and have a lot of it including two enameled cast iron Dutch ovens from well known brands (but they were actually made in China). I inherited one of them from my Dad and purchased the other before I knew about French enameled cast iron cookware in general and Staub in particular. My Dad and I had the idea to compare the two brands and both seemed to be of good quality and they lasted for years, but they were far from perfect — the enamel on one of them was easily chipped and the interior of the other one developed cracking and the surface started to flake off. In the intervening years, I discovered Staub and started building up a collection; the quality of the materials and workmanship is amazing.

They are beautifully finished with several layers of gorgeous enamel (that resists chipping) and they are very heavy with a durable matte black interior. The lids are self-basting. They are pricey so I would usually purchase a different piece for the holidays each year. Sort of a gift to myself. I have two of the figural pieces (the tomato and the pumpkin — so charming! but useful, too) the medium-sized coq-au-vin, a 3.75 quart French oven and three of the Dutch ovens (4 quart, 5.5 quart and 7 quart). I thought my collection was complete, although I wouldn’t have minded if someone gifted me the cute artichoke figural piece). Anyway, I had been using my Dad’s Dutch oven as a designated pot for making yogurt, cream of wheat and oatmeal when I noticed the flaking. I liked using it for this purpose because it was taller than my Staub Dutch ovens.

I was so happy to see that Staub had introduced a tall version of the 5-quart Dutch oven, and I ordered it in the matte black. It looks great and It is perfect for so many things — yogurt, of course but also soups and stews or baking bread. The size is versatile and it is just right for smaller families. The price was $199.99 when I purchased mine, and I thought that was a good deal. I have been looking for a Christmas gift for my SIL (a great cook) and I see they are now only $149.99! I also see there are great new colors available, too! This Dutch oven is definitely worth the price as Staub enameled cast iron is gorgeously finished, well-made, robust and durable + everything I make in these pots come out flavorful and delicious. It is 10 times better than the less expensive enameled cast iron I previously used. My older ones still look brand new. I know I will be passing all of my beautiful Staub pieces down to my children and grandchildren someday and I’m sure they will enjoy them using them for years, too.

I have many Staub cocottes, from the 11cm oval to the 23cm oval, including several round ones. I have Le Creuset oval cocottes in Satin Black, sized at 25cm, 27cm, and 29cm. These are great for roasting chicken due to their domed lid shape. Generally speaking, though, the quality of Staub is much superior to Le Creuset. For one thing, they all have a black interior, which is much preferable as it will become non stick with time. By contrast, only the satin black range in Le Creuset has this feature.

Secondly, the enamel on the outside is beautiful, with semi transparent hues. The design is superior. Heavier lids keep moisture in. Inner spikes distribute juices. Handles stick out more, reducing burns. I love top-notch cast iron. Meat gets a crispy crust, rice is fluffy and light, and bread always turns out perfect. It has a crust like artisan bread and a wonderful taste. Contrary to what many recipes stipulate, I do not heat up the whole cocotte before hand. I preheat the lid to the maximum temperature my oven allows (245°C) for about 40mn.

Meanwhile I let my dough (made with very little yeast and left overnight) rise again in the body. I put to hot lid on top, turn down the oven temperature to 200°C, and then bake. I achieve excellent outcomes: a crispy, tasty crust and a moist interior. Moreover, these Staub pots are adaptable, long-lasting, and attractive. What more do you want? (ah, I know: a cheaper price. But you get what you pay for…)

Staub Dutch Oven: A Game-Changer in My Kitchen . I used to think all Dutch ovens were pretty much the same. Boy, was I wrong! Since getting my Staub Dutch Oven, it’s become the star of my kitchen. This Dutch Oven is a powerhouse! It’s made of heavy cast iron with a lid that keeps moisture locked in tightly. But it’s the little details that really set Staub apart. The lid has smart spikes that keep my food moist by basting it with its own juices. No more dry, flavorless chicken or overcooked roasts! Everything comes out beautifully moist and packed with flavor. It’s as if a mini rainforest is in my pot, keeping everything nicely moist.

This Dutch oven is a workhorse that tackles any recipe I throw at it. It handles all types of cooking, from stews to steaks seared at high heat. The cast iron heats up evenly and retains heat like a dream, so I know my food will cook consistently. Plus, the smooth enamel bottom means I can use it on any kind of stovetop, which is a huge convenience. Staub Dutch ovens are built to last a lifetime. The enamel coating is super thick and feels really high quality. I love that it goes right from the stovetop to the oven, and can handle crazy high temperatures – 900°F without the lid! Cleanup is a breeze too. Although it’s labeled as dishwasher safe, I prefer to hand wash it as the enamel cleans easily. There are a few things I wasn’t expecting to love so much about this Dutch oven. The matte black interior is amazing for browning! I see how my meat is browning well, and it covers up any marks on light-colored surfaces. Speaking of stains, this enamel cleans up like a dream! Let’s not forget how gorgeous this Dutch oven is. It comes in so many beautiful colors, and I went with a classic black that looks sleek and stylish on my stovetop. It’s definitely a conversation starter – I always get compliments on it! Staub Dutch ovens may not be the cheapest, but they are worth every penny.

The quality is unmatched, and this pot is built to be a kitchen workhorse for decades to come. In fact, I’m already eyeing a smaller Staub for everyday cooking tasks. If you want a Dutch oven to improve your cooking and be a favorite in your kitchen, choose Staub! I can’t recommend it enough. Worth Every Penny.
